Happy New Year!!!!

2012 has almost ended, the world did not, so we have one more reason to celebrate the new year. What's in offer for this new year's eve and the new year?

Here is a round up about some of the year end specials

The first up is the brilliant new year's eve special at Marriott! It is brilliant because it is priced perfectly, almost the same as a regular Sunday brunch. I went through the menu for the New Year's eve dinner buffet and it is one huge buffer on offer, priced at Rs 1499 (1717 including taxes and Rs 2013 for the package with alcohol).  A very similarly priced new year lunch is also on with pretty much the same menu too! That is where a bunch of us have planned our new years. If set course and fine dine appeals to you, they have a specially crafted four course Italian meal at Rhapsody priced at Rs 1400 per person. Hyatt Regency on Mount Road has a whole lot going on for the new years eve. Spice market has a special buffet priced at Rs 3999 plus taxes, the Chinese restaurant, STIX has a special five course dinner priced at Rs 5999 plus taxes and a special five course Italian menu at Focaccia for Rs 3499. There is a new year buffet lunch at Spice Market for Rs 1999. All of the above includes alcohol.

At Hilton, and at my favorite Indian fine dining restaurant of Chennai, Ayna, there is a special Indian special dinner, while Vasco's the multicuisine restaurant has a special new year's eve buffet, both priced at Rs 3500 each.

If partying at Zara's is your way to welcome the new year, they have a special Mexican menu with new tapas and other mexican specialty foods till 2nd Jan.

Residency towers gives you four options - an Egyptian party at Spice Jar, a wine and dine event at chin Chin, a sing along event at Harmony and dj with free flowing alcohol at Black and White.

There are lots more happening in the city, I am sure everyone has a way to bring in the new year!
