Sparky's is among the few multi cuisine places in Chennai which does not serve north indian, south indian, Chinese and the likes, but serves multi cuisine from another part of the world. A place where every cuisine is Americanized. A place where some of my friends from abroad are at home eating Americanized pizzas and the likes. The friday night buffet here is quite something. There are soooooo many options and invariably five dishes are great and at Rs. 350, it is a steal
So last friday night, a cousin of mine who can out eat man vs food and put an elephant to shame and me decided to put out our burger fire which has been burning for a while now. We reserved a table as Friday can get super crowded with waiting times exceeding thirty minutes.
We started off with the burgers, you actually have to make your own burger here and I got a nice fresh bread, stuffed it with a nice beef patty, some coleslaw, a piece or two of lettuce and mayo inside the poor bun and the result is what you see in the picture. I got myself another bread, this time, the long one and stuffed it with sloppy joe, which I am a sucker for. The sloppy joe here is invariably good and one that I almost always get three helpings off. For his first round,he had hotdog, burger, burger and one more hotdog, yes, you read right, all that was first round for him. For my second round, I usually have the bourbon street sauce with the boiled chicken and pasta and this is the place where sparkys is inconsistent, but that night the sauce was great and I totally enjoyed it. The third round was another round of sloppy joe and a corn cob with chicken balls. I decided to skip the baked food that night as the sloppy joe was just too good.
There is so much food that you can mix and match your favorites and it is usually very difficult to taste all. I have no idea what all my cousin ate but we were both stuffed to the nose and skipped dessert.
Nothing much to talk of service in a buffet, but I love the fact that you can get bottomless tea or lemonade and actually refill with it with the other, no fuss made.
Food 8/10
Ambiance 8/10
Service 8/10
Price 9/10
