A small new coffeeshop/restaurant/wanna be restaurant has opened shop in R A Puram, Chennai. Located on the front end of a furniture store, it has a beautiful setting outside, with a tiny roofed store which houses cakes, lasagnas and pastas, which are then heated/made fresh somewhere else and served with a smile to you!!!!
Yeah, I am just not able to describe this place any better! It is essentially a small outlet with a small but elegant outdoor seating area attempting to serve good food, but ends up serving average ones. On the recommendation of a friend, we hit this place and ordered a portion of Chicken Lasagna, Pasta and Iced tea.
The lasagna was very average while the pasta was alright. The iced tea was straight out of Nestle Iced Tea! The only good thing about the place is the outdoor seating area facing the road and its elegance. The friend defended his decision to send us here saying that the owner needs to be there as he is the one who whips up tasty dishes, but the owner better find a way to fix that, as I have no plans to go back here! And wonder how many customers he would lose this way. Prices were obscene, with a small portion of lasagna priced around Rs 100 and the pasta about Rs 150 or so! Portions were super small and we ended up paying about Rs 400 and were still left hungry!
Maybe these are start up errors and I could give them another shot later on, but let's see!
Food 4/10
Price 3/10
Ambiance 8/10
Service 5/10
Crust is located on the road next to the Lawrence and Mayo showroom on Alwarpet, behind a furniture store!!
